Contacting Leads and Writing Messages

This is up to you. There’s no universally “best” way to write an outreach message, just as there’s no universally best way to do a pitch deck, send a cold email, or convince someone to stock your product.
In general, some basic things you should be mindful of in your messages:
Make sure the Instagram account you’re sending from accurately reflects your brand, and is visually appealing. Things like having the bio link to your site (or your main account), having some posts that showcase your product, etc. should be fundamental.
Think of it from the recipient’s perspective. Ask yourself: “why should they stock your product?”. Does it sell super well with customers? Has it won awards? Does it complement their existing offering? Etc. Don’t just tell them them about your product and expect them to stock it for no good reason.
This depends on the settings of the recipient (e.g. if they allow messages from outside their following). In most cases, if you’re DM’ing retailers, the vast majority of these locations will have their settings set to allow messages from everyone. After all, they want their customers to message them.
